Boxer Chase Young set to compete in Regional Junior Olympics
Chase Young, 13-year-old grandson of Georgia McGaa, Tanka's manager of inside sales and customer service, is set to compete in the Regional Junior Olympics Championships in Deadwood, SD, on May 29.

Chase, who is coached by Eddie Martinez of Rapid City Youth Boxing Club, won the state title in his weight class which allows him to move up for the Regional Championships. Chase is also slated to box this weekend (May 22-23) at the Native American Regional Championships in Gordon, NE. Should Chase win this event in his weight class, he will advance to the National Native American Championships in Albuquerque, NM, in October.

In addition, Chase and his fellow boxer Mark Herrington, 19, were recently honored by Coach Martinez for their commitment to boxing.

Chase's long-range goal is to go to the Olympics and win the first Gold Medal by a Native American in boxing. He has promised his grandparents, Georgia and Doyle McGaa, that he will take them with him and hopes that it is in someplace like Spain, China, or far away so they will all have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Good luck from the Tanka team, Chase! We know you can do it!
