Harvard Business School student focuses on Tanka Bar for research project
Raven Smith (pictured on the left) is Tlingit Native from Alaska in her second year at Harvard Business School. She recently stopped by the Tanka Bar headquarters and met up with CEO Karlene Hunter.

Ms. Smith is doing an independent student research project this spring focused on fostering citizen entrepreneurship in Native communities.

"I'm specifically looking at success stories of communities and citizen entrepreneurs that will help me to identify what some of the key elements underpinning the successes," she said in a letter to the company in March. "I have identified Pine Ridge and Tanka Bar as examples of success in fostering citizen entrepreneurship and I am considering planning a trip to conduct interviews with several organizations in the community."

We look forward to seeing Ms. Smith's project progress and will keep you posted on her success.
