Jodi Bailey, a supporter of Tanka Bar, just finished seventh place in the 2011 Yukon Quest 1,000 Mile International Sled Dog Race in Alaska out of 13 finishing teams. Not bad for a rookie in such a challenging race. She told our team that Tanka Bars are "delicious natural snacks" that were a staple of her trail diet.
Here she talks about how she felt after she finished the race.
"... I was not ready for it all to end, and was not kidding in the radio interview when I said I was considering stopping the team on the Chena River and not going to the finish line. After days of quality time alone with my dogs, all of a sudden you know it is going to end, and you will be back to your regular life.
I just did not want the trail time to end. But at the finish, I was surrounded by dear friends cheering me on, and Dan, who brought me roses. And the knowledge that I had just done something very few people will ever attempt, let alone finish."
